Six years after writing our first-ever loan, Radium Capital has hit the incredible milestone of half a billion dollars in Radium Advances. Despite the impressive milestone, demand for Radium Advances is continuing to surge to unprecedented levels.
Radium Capital Managing Director Jeremy Loftus says that the spiralling cash rate, low valuations for start-ups and scale-ups, and investor capital that’s harder than ever to land are behind the trend.

When we first opened our doors in 2017, it took around six months to write our first $10 million in loans. Around four-and-a-half years later, in the spring of 2021, our R&D lending had increased to the quarter-billion-dollar mark.
Now, we’ve written the same amount of Radium Advances again in just under 18 months.
Around 13,000 Australian businesses claim the R&D Tax Incentive annually, but only a fraction of these companies leverage their capital positions with R&D financing.
