Overview
Swoop Aero has developed the world’s only end-to-end drone logistics platform. The brainchild of co-founders Eric Peck and Andrew Thomas, Swoop Aero’s mission is to deploy drone networks that realise the next giant leap in how essential supplies and services are delivered.
Mercy missions made in Australia
Swoop began building drone aircraft with the capability to fly over land and sea in the toughest conditions to reach inaccessible areas and allow everyone access to the skies. In a world first, the start-up also developed its own in-house landing, charging and payload deployment infrastructure and fully integrated, user-friendly proprietary software suite to support its drone. With the capability to cover vast distances, avoid traffic congestion and travel through inaccessible terrain, Swoop Aero’s Australian-made technology and the homegrown research behind it have been a game-changer for isolated communities in Australia and overseas.
Scaling towards skyward growth
With demand growing for its multi-award-winning innovation, Swoop Aero turned to Radium Capital for non-dilutionary funding to help accelerate its R&D to improve its product offering and begin scaling up its local manufacturing base.
Swoop Aero Chief Executive Officer Eric Peck says, “Swoop has developed an extensive local manufacturing supply chain including a partnership with commercial aerospace supplier, QuickStep, to manufacture the composite drone shell in Geelong and Circuitwise for electronic manufacturing in Sydney.”
Now, Swoop Aero is transitioning from a start-up into a scale-up with products and services that will reach and serve 1 billion people by 2030. With a trial planned for its medical transport service in remote Queensland, the business intends to access its R&D refund early with Radium Advances to provide consistent cash flow to support its continuing scale-up journey.
