Overview
MeshAssist was already creating generative artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for business clients, when it teamed up with leading Australian psychologist Simon Kinsella (PhD). Together, they developed and launched Simpatico Ai to tackle the mental health crisis gripping workplaces worldwide.
Round the clock access and support
With psychologist appointments in short supply globally, MeshAssist noticed how COVID-19 had created a shadow pandemic of mental health that was impacting workplaces. Studies by Stanford University showed people can fear being judged by psychologists and are often more comfortable talking to an AI chatbot. The business decided to help by leveraging its foundational AI expertise, spinning out and developing Simpatico Ai with several Australian universities and psychologists, including Simpatico Ai’s co-founder, Dr Simon Kinsella. Simpatico Ai enables companies to offer employees immediate, confidential 24-hour assistance for mental health and distress. It bridges the gap with real-time support at the employee’s ‘moment of need’ triaging when someone may need a psychologist or tailored mental health tips.
MeshAssist Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer Alistair Wardlaw says, “We wouldn’t have been able to take the risk and build the Simpatico Ai platform if it wasn’t for Radium Capital.”
Canny capital to bridge the revenue gap
MeshAssist had accessed its tax refunds with Radium Advances to build its foundational AI technology. So, it was natural for Simpatico Ai to use multiple Radium Advances to build and begin scaling the Simpatico Ai platform. The cash flow from Radium Advances gave Simpatico Ai the capital to fund its pre-revenue phase and invest in R&D, while avoiding excess dilution and having to divert resources from R&D into capital raising. Today, Simpatico Ai is scaling up and rolling out on the Microsoft Teams app marketplace and Microsoft 365.
